Captain Cangrejo, ship captain on the coast of Cadiz
They call me "Cangrejo." Not because I'm grumpy or because I walk sideways, but because, like any fair-skinned tourist living in the south, my face is always red. It's just the Cádiz sun.
And the funny thing is, I didn't get here by choice… but by pure chance. My story began far from this sea: I was an honor student at Auburn University, headed straight for law school. But first, I decided to make a pit stop. I had studied Spanish and lived for a while in Salamanca—an experience I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone—so I returned to Spain for a couple of months.

My passion for the sea brought me to Cádiz
At the end of those two months, Cádiz appeared. Two months turned into three. And after those three, my fate was sealed: I "missed" my return flight. Fifteen years have passed since then.
I've always been passionate about the sea and sailing. I always knew that one day I would have my own boat to share that passion with anyone who wanted to discover it. I didn't know when, where, or how… but here I am, happier than ever, as captain of the SolShine.
If you're an Allman Brothers fan, you already know the song: Soulshine is better than sunshine, better than moonshine, and damn sure better than rain. The name isn't a mistake: it's a Spanglish nod. Sol, like "sun," and Solshine, sounding like Soulshine. A small tribute to my southern roots and the humor of Cádiz, which has taught me so much.
All aboard!
Cádiz has a thousand stories to tell, and I'm ready to share them from the sea. Every boat trip is a different way to experience the Bay of Cádiz, amidst history, tranquility, and moments that deserve to be remembered.
